Seacroft wheelers road race 2nd July 2023
The women’s race started at 1:45. It was a fairly flat circuit, with one slight climb, meaning that was the only place for any attacks to work. The race consisted of 7 laps, with each lap being 5.4 miles. My goals going into this race were to be confident and ensure I always place myself towards the front, so I don’t get caught out. Prior, I guessed it was going to result in a bunch sprint, although there were several attacks during the race, trying to break. I managed to bag a 13th place, in not the most ideal position getting boxed in with 200 metres to go. My fuelling was awful, only consuming one drink and one bar out of the whole race. Certainly something to improve on for future races.
Dudley Grand Prix E1/2/3 Women - 14th of July - 19:30
This was a surreal race for me. It took place right outside my college where I had grown up. Never once has there been a regional race here, never mind a national! The conditions weren’t the greatest with the weather being very miserable, but I suppose it makes racing more exciting. I made sure I had enough to eat before as crit races are just chaos, therefore you don’t get much time to fuel during the race. Crit races aren’t usually my greatest races though. I struggle with my confidence going into the corners and the incredible speed the bunch carries into them. I went into this race happy and just wanting to make small progressions for myself. I stared the race right at the back, and made up several places through out. My confidence always manages to grow by the end of the race, so I can be pleased with that. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Lee Wood and all of the riders from Stourbridge CC for making this day happen!

The Alpes
I couldn’t wait for this get away. To be able to relax, as well as get some hard training at altitude done. During my time away I climbed Alp d’Huez , La Forclaz, Semnoz, Col de la Croix and more! These climbs were all brutal, but worth it for the view at the top😍!The weather was incredible, reaching 39 degrees! So as you can probably imagine, it was a bit of a shock to the body coming back to the UK.
Coming up, I have the womens E1/2/3 race on the 2nd of September; then the Ras na mBan with AWOL in Ireland 😆!
